Bruce Scotti of Scotti & Associates in Wethersfield, CT, and his wife, Rosemary, were inspired to start Angels in CT out of a desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children in their community, the Greater Hartford area of Connecticut. They realized that many kids living in shelters often miss out on the joys of the holiday season, particularly the excitement that comes with waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve. This realization struck a chord with them, as they understood the importance of children feeling hope and joy, especially during holidays meant for celebration.
To address this gap, they established Angels Over CT, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the magic of Christmas to children in shelters in the Greater Hartford area. Each year, the organization works tirelessly to create a Christmas party with a festive atmosphere that kids in shelters can enjoy, not just gifts, but also the warmth of community and the spirit of giving. Through their efforts, these children are treated to a special holiday party, where they can experience the thrill of meeting Santa Claus, receiving presents, and enjoying a nutritious meal.
The focus on providing healthy food is an essential part of their mission, as it ensures that the children not only celebrate but also receive the nourishment they need and may lack while living in a shelter. By creating these joyful experiences, Angels Over CT helps to foster a sense of belonging and community among children who often feel marginalized.
